The Waterwise Toilet Rebate provides a rebate of up to $400 on the purchase and install of a new dual flush WELS 4-star rated toilet to replace a single flush toilet.

And, a rebate of up to $300 is available for the purchase, set up and programming of eligible weather-based irrigation controller and module products through the Weather-Based Irrigation Controller Rebate.

Busselton Water Chief Executive Officer, David Hughes-Owen explained that waterwise efforts from everyone in the community are more important than ever as we continue to work to ensure we have a high-quality water supply for future generations.

“Whilst our groundwater aquifers are replenished by rainfall, the impacts of climate change and our drying climate means that our water source is finite,” said Mr Hughes-Owen. “Add to that our growing population and the resulting increased demand for water and it’s clear why, as a community, we need to adopt and extend our waterwise practices and behaviours.

“Water conservation and waterwise activities will always be the lynchpin in the effort to preserve water supplies and that’s why we’re so excited to offer this range of waterwise offers to our customers.”

Water Minister Simone McGurk MLA welcomed the announcement saying, “Busselton Water’s new waterwise offers will not only help residents save on their water bills, but also play a crucial role in preserving water resources in a part of regional WA where drinking water sources are facing challenges on a number of fronts.”

“We know climate change presents real challenges, and programs like this are key to helping us adapt and build resilience in our water schemes.

“I encourage Busselton Water customers to take advantage of the available offers and continue to build their understanding of where our water comes from, how our water is managed, and what we can do as a community to ensure there is water for generations to come.”

Busselton Water also supports state-wide water efficiency programs like the annual summer sprinkler roster, winter sprinkler ban and the water efficiency management plan (WEMP) program for commercial users consuming over 20,000kL annually.
