Health and safety

Safety is paramount in our high risk engineering and construction environment and Busselton Water has one of the best track records in the water industry.

Our workplace health and safety processes and training programs have been carefully developed to protect the wellbeing of our employees, our community and the sensitive environment in which we operate.

We are proud of our performance and the acknowledgement we have received from our industry including a prestigious IFAP/CGU Gold Safe Way Achiever Award from the Industrial Foundation for Accident Prevention, WA’s longest-running workplace safety awards.

Busselton Water also holds a WorkSafe Plan Gold Achievement Award, from safety regulator WorkSafe, for our outstanding safety record and best practice occupational health and safety management systems.

In 2017, we set a new benchmark, achieving a two-year perfect All Injury Frequency Rate (AIFR) of zero for the 24 months to 30 November. The AIFR measures the number of injuries, including minor and lost time, in the workplace per million staff-hours worked.
