Operations
Busselton Water is one of the oldest and smallest water corporations in Australia but we punch above our weight when it comes to innovation and performance. We are proud to say that our city’s water is among the best and cheapest in the country.
Every year, we supply more than five billion litres of drinking water to more than 28,000 customers in our licensed area. The population in our community doubles to more than 50,000 in the peak of summer and that puts a hefty demand on production.
As the region’s primary water provider, we work closely with other government agencies, local government, emergency and health services, to deliver the quality and reliability our residents and industries depend on.
We also work closely with the WA Department of Water and Environmental Regulation, to protect the groundwater resources that are the mainstay of our current and future supply, and with the WA Water Corporation, which is responsible for providing sewer and wastewater services in our area.
Western Australia’s South West region is one of the fastest-growing in the State and an important part of our job is providing water infrastructure and services to the many new suburbs and housing developments being built, as well as maintaining the existing network.
