Partnerships in action
The Busselton Water Community Partnerships Program is proud to assist local clubs, schools and community groups in the Busselton area.
Disabled Surfers Association South West
Busselton Water continues to support the ‘Let’s Go Surfing Days’ at Bunker Bay to assist people with disability to try their hand at surfing in a safe and dignified way. Now in its eighth season in WA, the four free surfing days run monthly, from December to March, with more than 200 people at each event.
1st Cape Naturaliste Scout Group
Busselton Water supported the purchase and installation of a 25-litre under-sink plug-in electric hot water heater in the scout hall kitchen to help with washing dishes and the cleaning of equipment in a safer way.
Busselton Hospice Care
Busselton Water supported the purchase of a 22,500-litre water tank and water pump as part of the Geographe Bay Centre garden refurbishment. Visitors to the centre will be able to enjoy the tranquil space as they access bereavement and support services.
Busselton Jets Junior Rugby
With Busselton Water’s support, six first aid kits have been purchased for six different age-group teams, as well as an aluminium stretcher. The Club can now meet Australian Rugby Union (ARU) medical and safety requirements.
Busselton Surf Lifesaving Club
Busselton Water provided funding to purchase new first aid equipment (including resuscitators and ‘Annie’ CPR mannequins) to help train and equip club members and the local community with lifesaving skills. The equipment purchased has already helped a group of people in their training for their Surf Rescue Certificate and Bronze Medallion.
Busselton Swimming Club
The Busselton Swimming Club funding will see the purchase of a poolside cage to store equipment for the club’s squads. Pool buoys, kickboards, snorkels and fins are just a few examples of what will be stored in this new cage.
Robins Women’s Hockey Club
Busselton Water is supporting Robins Women’s Hockey Club through the purchase of two junior goal keeping packs for their 2018 season. The kits include leg guards, leg kickers, junior helmets, foam chest guards and gloves to ensure these junior goal keepers are well protected.
